8 Mistakes You’re Making While Wearing a Lehenga!

Wearing a lehenga requires a lot of preparations from the very first day. Choosing the right design and colour is not enough. There are many other things that need to be taken care of as well. Most of the women are making this common mistake. They don’t pay attention to the rest of the things apart from design and colour. So, the next time you’re wearing a lehenga, make sure that you’re not making these mistakes.

1. Not Picking the Right Lining for Your Lehenga
Just as the colour of your lehenga and blouse plays an important role in your overall appearance, likewise, the colour of your lining does a lot for your lehenga. The fabric and colour of the lining are very important. If the fabric is not soft, it is going to prick your legs. Any colour brighter than your lehenga will peek through and sabotage your complete look.

2. Matching from Head to Toe
Gone are the days when women used to match everything right from the head to toe. You have to keep somethings in contrast with your attire. In fact, nowadays, the blouse and lehenga are often chosen in contrasting shades. For example, wear a beige footwear with red lehenga.

3. Don’t Cover Yourself from Head to Toe
You must show off a bit of your midriff or back in that lehenga. Covering yourself head to toe won’t do the magic. You need to prepare yourself for showing off a bit of your skin when doing the desi girl style. Keep that full sleeves blouse with high neck away. It will be a fashion disaster. But, don’t go overboard while showing your skin. Keep it moderate.

4. Too Much Embroidery
Too much embroidery in a same piece of attire looks like trying too hard. There is an unsaid rule about lehenga, when you’re picking a highly embroidered lehenga, choose a plain blouse. Don’t include all types of embroidery in the same lehenga. Just as it is said, ‘Too many cooks, spoil the broth’.

5. Too Big Motifs
Women often don’t pay much attention to the size of motifs on their lehenga. Embroidery or the pattern on the lehenga shouldn’t be very big. It will make you appear larger than you are. If you are not very petite, then stay away from large motifs and pattern.

6. Loading Yourself with Too Much Jewellery
We love gold, isn’t it? If your lehenga is too embroidered, then refrain from wearing heavy jewellery. Most of the girls make this mistake, they wear heavy necklace and earrings with their intricately embroidered lehengas. Making this mistake will make you look like a jewellery shop. Don’t over accessorize yourself, unless you’re the bride.

7. Lehenga is Too Long or Too Short
The length of the lehenga should be up to the mark. Invest in a comfortable pair of high heels for your lehenga. Measure the length of your heels and your lehenga. When you’re getting the length of your lehenga customized, make sure that you give all the measurements while wearing the heels you’re going to wear with it.

8. Wrong Dupatta
Dupatta is not a peripheral to the lehenga. It has an equal say in making or breaking your look. Be picky about choosing your dupatta. More often, the dupatta provided with lehenga isn’t flattering much. Don’t shy away from purchasing a separate dupatta for your lehenga. Make sure that your dupatta is in contrast with your lehenga.
