We are living in a phase where hitting the gym with the hush-hush of daily routine is extremely difficult! The notion that “one shouldn’t eat before working out” is entirely nuisance. And heading to the gym empty stomach can really worsen the situations. Well, I have done it myself. It was one horrible and embarrassing position! No-no, this doesn’t mean that you will end up chewing-chewing heartily before workouts either. Don’t get me wrong, dear. The golden rule is to eat right at the right time.
So here’s some help from me to all my beautiful friends out there…..read on and find out what you can eat before a hardcore session of exercises.
Yogurt!!
As it is easy on the stomach and the digestive system, yogurts is considered to be an ideal food to be consumed before a workout. They contain natural sugar, proteins and calcium in small quantities and hence, keep you full during an intense gyming. You can also incorporate some cereals, fruits and honey to the yogurt that will give your energy a quick boost.
Protein Shakes!!
They are highly popular among all the people who hit the gym on regular basis. As we all know that protein is greatly important for the development of bones, muscles and every girl’s dream…..even and glowing skin! If you do not have the access to natural sources, protein shakes are ideal.
P.S. – They can harm your kidney function. Therefore, consult your doc before opting for one!
Oatmeal!!
If you are one of those fitness freaks, you will definitely know how beneficial oat meals are! They are a great source of energy besides the fact that it is light and easy on the stomach. Just adding some fruits to the oatmeal can make it so much better.
Bananas!!
They have sugar and starch and known as the finest supplier of energy. I would recommend my friends to eat a medium sized banana 45 minutes prior working out. It is like your daily energy fuel of your body.
Peanut Butter Sandwiches!!
Yum-Yum!! And yes, you heard it right….peanut butter sandwich in multigrain bread is an excellent source of energy.
Try the aforementioned foods if you don’t want to doze off during your gym sessions. (talking about my personal experience here)
