1. Use clean and sanitized makeup brushes
Dirty and overused makeup brushes can be harmful to your skin, leading to bacteria and dirt buildup. And not to forget, think of all those dirty surfaces they come in contact with, like bathroom surfaces and your makeup bag with multiple other products in there. Also, if you use dirty or overused brushes, you will not get that desired finished look for your makeup.
You must wash all your makeup brushes at least once in a week, used or not. Use shampoo and water to wash them and lay flat in the sun to dry out naturally.
2. Always remove makeup before going to bed
We can’t emphasize enough on how bad is it for your skin to sleep with the makeup on. But still, we would like to remind you again and again, that no matter how tired you are, always remove your makeup before you go to sleep. Otherwise, this will only lead to blemishes, acne, pimples, clogged pores and patchy skin.
First, remove your makeup with a good makeup remover and then wash your face with water and a mild face wash. At last, follow with a good moisturizer.
3. Avoid too much tweezing around your eyebrows
We understand that you have a busy schedule to visit the salon timely, but tweezing those extra eyebrow hair is only harmful to your skin. Too much plucking will only thin your eyebrows and make you look older than you really are.
Use an eyebrow comb to give them a proper shape and pluck only limited or 4-5 eyebrow hair to give them a refined look. You can also use an eyebrow pencil to give them a definite shape.
4. Limit your contact with your skin too often
You might be making this mistake consciously or unconsciously, but it is damaging your beauty and affecting your flawless skin. Your fingertips are dirty, due to the constant contact with other surfaces, and if you keep touching them to your face, they will build up more dirt and oil on your skin, which ultimately leads to clogged pores and blemishes.
The least you can do is sanitize your hands thoroughly, especially if you have been to the washroom or outdoors.
5. Get rid of your old makeup
Yes, even your makeup gets old and has an expiration date. Once they are opened, they come in direct contact with bacteria and other contaminants. And using them will only cause breakouts and blemishes on your skin.
Always throw away makeup products that are older than six months or 12 months at max. even some products has shelf life printed on them, so use accordingly.
These things will help you get clear skin, and apart from these, always try to maintain your hydration level. Water helps to keep a healthy skin.
