We all consider papaya as the best fruit but overconsumption of this fruit can have an adverse effect on the oesophagus, an organ of our body the food we eat, passes through. So, always consume it in a small amount.
2. May cause allergy sometimes
The latex content of this fruit can cause allergic reactions which happen when you consume the unripe one. So, beware eating it next time especially when you are going to eat the unripe papaya.
3. Risk of abortion
This fruit has many amazing benefits but its seeds and root can increase the chances of abortion. And if you consume it in its unripe form than it can lead to uterine contractions. So, it is always suggested to the pregnant ladies to avoid this fruit.
4. Adverse effect on fertility
It is said that the seeds of this fruit reduce the men’s fertility and also decrease the sperm count. And it can also affect the sperm mobility in some cases.
5. Lowers blood sugar
If you are suffering from BP and taking medications for it, then start avoiding this fruit as it lowers the blood sugar level which can affect your health adversely.
6. It can be toxic
Overconsumption of this fruit can be toxic because of the benzyl isothiocyanate element present in it.
7. Can cause defects in babies
The leaves of this fruit contain a compound papain which can cause birth defects in babies. So, it is suggested to avoid this fruit before and after the pregnancy for some time.
