Nowadays we come across many fitness freaks who want to remain fit and for this reason, they follow all the instructions given by their trainer or dietitian. For last few decades, there are many diet myths that have come up and we have been following them. But it is high time that people should stop following these dumb diet myths.
Here is the list of diet myths that people still follow in India:
1. Avoid carbohydrates after sunset
This very stupid thing that people follow to remain fit. Never ever restrict your carbs consumption especially when you spent a lot of your time in lifting weights or running on treadmills. All you need to do is to balance your time gap between your meal and sleep. Make sure the gap is of 2 to 3 hours.
2. Only calorie count matters
Most of the people know about the per day calorie intake. Like if anyone is trying to build muscles then they can increase their calorie intake for about 2400 kcal. But it is not the only fact that you should know. Every person should know it’s calorie intake from proteins, carbs, and fats. Most of the people focus on protein because of the supplement ads. But it is very important that you have a balanced calorie intake which consists of all these three nutrients.
3. Eating banana can make you fat
This statement is absolutely incorrect because bananas are full of pectin and fibre. And this fruit also helps in decreasing the chances of bloating by increasing the production of healthy bacteria. And it is also helpful in lowering the cholesterol levels and burning fat.
4. Supplements help in shedding fat
If your instructor advises you to have supplements for shedding fat and getting a muscular body then it is better that you leave his mentorship. Supplements are nothing but ten percent of your diet. So, if you are relying on it too much, it is high time to stop it. It won’t serve you well in the long run as it’s unhealthy.
5. Fat means fat
Many people think that if they ditch fat they can lose fat easily and quickly. But this is not simple as people think of. If you really want to lose weight then you should stop consuming junk foods. But you still need to consume monosaturated and unsaturated fats that are mostly available in healthier food options. All you need to do is to balance their intake.
6. Stop eating outside when you are on diet
This is an absolute nonsense and no one should follow this. The long-term concept of losing weight is moderation. You just need to keep in mind that you have to avoid eating foods that have excess fattening elements which are not healthy. But eating outside once in a while is completely fine.
