Ingredients needed for sweet potato halwa recipe:

  • Sweet potato (chopped in big pieces)- 1
  • Cardamom powder- 1 tablespoon
  • Ghee- 2 tablespoons
  • Almonds (blanched)- 1 tablespoon
  • Milk- 1/4th cup
  • Sugar- 2 tablespoons

Now, how to make sweet potato halwa:

  • First, add some water to the pressure cooker.
  • Now, add sweet potato to the cooker and pressure cook for 3-4 whistles.
  • Then, remove the sweet potato from the cooker and peel.
  • After that, mash the sweet potato and keep it aside.
  • In the meantime, heat some ghee in a pan.
  • Now, add the mashed sweet potato to it and stir for 4 to 5 minutes.
  • Then, gently add milk and make sure you stir constantly.
  • Once the milk is evaporated add sugar to the pan and stir.
  • After that, add cardamom powder, almonds to the pan and stir.
  • Transfer the halwa to a separate bowl.
  • And your sweet potato halwa is ready to be served.
